Ancestry: Library Edition

Ancestry® Library Edition is one of the most important genealogical collections available today. It has unparalleled coverage of the United States and the United Kingdom, including census, vital, church, court, and immigration records, as well as record collections from Canada, Europe, Australia and other areas of the world! This collection, with thousands of databases and billions of indexed names, is essential to having a broad genealogy collection.

Start using Ancestry: Library Edition. Ancestry: Library Edition can only be used at the library. Only two people can use the database at a time.


TEMPORARY REMOTE ACCESS

This will be a multi-step process, so please read through and follow all the steps in order to access Ancestry.com remotely.

  1. Patrons will need to first log in with their library card at https://badgerlink.dpi.wi.gov/login. Simply select the library from the list and enter the barcode without any spaces.  (After a successful login on our site, the page will automatically load to https://badgerlink.dpi.wi.gov/resources -- this page can be ignored.)
  2. Patron will need to return to their library’s website and then click on https://www.wiscat.net/ext/validateglobal.php?cid=stwi&lid=stwi&dataid=147.
